    Description

NO RESERVE.We're offering here a beautifully detailed set of two 1/700 scale Junkers Ju 52/3m g5e 'See' models that have just come out of the 3D printer! Nicknamed 'Tante Ju' by Axis troops, the legendary Junkers Ju 52 was the most famous German transport of the Second World War. Originally designed as an airliner, the Ju 52 saw extensive service in every theater that Germany participated in. Interestingly, the design of later Ju 52's allowed for easy conversion to floats instead of landing gear. Hundreds of these conversions saw service in the Mediterranean and, although they constituted a relatively small number of the 4,845 Ju 52s built, their value was immense in this theater where they ultimately suffered catastrophic casualties.
Pit-Road offered at least two injection molded Ju 52 models decades ago but we believe that these are the first ever 1/700 scale Ju 52 models with floats. We've posted some high resolution photos so you can judge for yourself. Photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills, but check out the well proportioned model including the fuselage with detailed cockpit, dorsal gun position, windows and doors; the tail assembly and the wings with the floats mounted on delicate struts.
The surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers) but the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene. The models may still have some powder and oil-like agent on them that can be easily removed by washing in warm water with a drop of detergent added to it.
    These outstanding
Ju 52 'See' models should be a welcome addition to any WW2 wargamer's or 1/700 modeler's collection, particularly those interested in Luftwaffe transport operations in Norway and the Mediterranean. Please take a look at the other 1/700 scale aircraft models that we have on auction as well. We're always happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases to save whenever possible. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions whatsoever.
