Description
NO RESERVE. We're offering here a set of ten beautifully detailed USAAF Support Vehicle models that have just come out of the 3D printer. Photography of these little gems is a challenge for our equipment and limited skills, but please check out the well proportioned models. Note that the B-17 shown in detail photo #6 is for historical context and scale reference only and is not included in this set. The set includes the following models:(x1) Autocar U-7144-T 4x4 Tractor & F-1 Fuel Trailer
(Detail photos #2-4) - The Autocar U-7144-T 4-ton 4x4 Tractor (also produced by White as Model 444T) was powered by the Hercules RXC 529 cu.in., 112hp 6 cyl gasoline engine with a maximum towed load capacity of 30,000 lbs. The F-1 Fuel Servicing Semi-Trailer had a capacity of 4,000 gal.
(x1) Chevrolet M6 Bomb Service Truck and
(x3) M-5 Bomb Trailers

- The M6 was a 1.5 ton 4x4 truck powered by a Chevrolet 236 cu. in., 83 hp 6 cyl engine that was used to tow M5 Bomb Trailers. The M5 Bomb Trailer had a 2-1/2 ton capacity and was used to transport bombs from the munitions storage areas to the aircraft for loading. Each trailer weighed 7,200 lbs when fully loaded and up to six M5s could be towed in train.
(x2) Cletrac M-2 High Speed Tractors
(Detail photos #9-11) - The
M2 Tractor was known as the 'Cletrac' for its manufacturer, the Cleveland Tractor Company, or a sthe 'bomber nurse' for its function of moving aircraft or heavy trailers. The M2 weighed 13,800 lbs. and had a drawbar pull of 7,000 lbs.

While the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene. The models may still have some oil-like agent on them that needs to be removed by washing in warm water with a drop of detergent added to it.
These outstanding USAAF Support Vehicle models should be a welcome addition to any wargamer's or 1/700 modeler's collection, particularly those interested in USAAF operations.
