    Description

    This is a September 21, 1861 Civil War Commission for James R Chamberlain as a Second Lt in the 3rd New York Cavalry.  It is signed December 4, 1861 by New York Governor, Edwin D Morgan and the Adj General (cannot read..) with his seal.  Measuring 14" x 16 3/4", it includes an Excelsior vignette signed "Hoffman for peace".  Condition is very good except for a few small holes on the folds.  Look for other Civil War paper we are listing to combine shipping.
