Original 19thc Civil War Confederate hand written letter dated May 5 1863 from a soldier in the Army of Northern Virginia-1st Virginia Cavalry,Co I to his sister back home in Georgia...its a 4 page letter thats fairly easy to read...talks about the folks back home but also tells her some details on troop movements...hes with " Gen Wm H Fitzhugh Lee Brigade-Rode All Day as an advance guard..stopped at court house to feed horses etc "....talks about the " yankees had tried to blow us up and it would have been heavy losses " etc...its 7 x 5 and its clean and readable with normal wear-has original fold lines and creases with small seam tear..looks and displays well and is guaranteed original and authentic ...Shipping is via USPS in US and overseas…check listing for other period Civil War items including several Confederate documents...always glad to combine on multiple buys when possible
