Description
1868 autograph letter signed by William Barry (1818-1879), a civil war brigadier general (with a brevet as major general). 1838 West Point grad, was McDowell and Sherman's chief of artillery. Postware he was colonel of the 2nd Artillery and later commanded the artillery school of practice at Fort Monroe and had command at Fort McHenry. Letter is on Artillery School letterhead and is addressed to General Strong and relates to an upcoming army reunion in Chicago, including a request for a banquet ticket. Neat item.This material comes from the Civil War autograph, manuscript and document collection formed by Frederick Peck and is guaranteed original and genuine.
