    Description

1869 letter written and signed by Nathan Kimball (1822-1898) as treasurer of Indiana; on state letterhead with nice vignettes.  Kimball was a briagadier general in the civil war with division command, after first serving as colonel of the 14th Indiana (with notable service at Kernstown).  He was also the first commander of the Indiana Grand Army of the Republic and had a medical practice.    Letter with folds and mounted to album page at top of document; letter is an endorsement for a political position.
