    1876 autograph note signed by Peter V. Hagner (1815-1893), who had a brevet as brigadier general as part of his civil war service and who had a 40-year career as an ordnance officer in the army, including service at the Watervliet arsenal (and at the outset of the war at St. Louis).  Documetn requests a thermometer and is signed with his title as brevet brigadider general.  Mounted at left to album page.
