Description
1887 short note on New York Police Department Commissioner's office letterhead, signed by Fitz John Porter (a major general in the civil war famed for being court martialed after Second Bull Run (he was later exonerated). 1845 WP grad; led the 5th corps. Note is addressed to another general; mounted to album page.This material comes from the Civil War autograph, manuscript and document collection formed by Frederick Peck and is guaranteed original and genuine.
