    Native to Mexico, Tradescantia Zebrina (also called Wandering Jew) grows quickly, displaying trailing stems and green and purple leaves marked with iridescent silver stripes -- VERY pretty and colorful plant in addition to being easy to grow! A warm-climate plant most often grown indoors as a houseplant, Tradescantia will also grow outdoors as an annual in temperate areas of as a perennial in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 9 through 11. When grown as a houseplant, know that the oldest leaves will dry up and fall off over time. This is normal and does not mean there's anything wrong with the plant. You can create new plants by propagating, or just buy more from me :)
    Tradescantia finds its way into hanging baskets and mixed annual containers for the summer because of its easy-going, tolerant nature. The vibrant purple and silver striped leaves bring personality to any space. This vine looks beautiful in hanging baskets or stands where its natural tendency to vine and trail is really brought out. Tradescantia is happiest with bright, indirect light to maintain its variegation. These plants prefer to dry out some between watering.
