ANTIQUE BISQUE SOCKET HEAD Glass Eyes Jointed Body VTGMORIMURA NIPPON BOY DOLL
An antique bisque socket head doll with a composition body. He measures approximately 13" tall. This doll has stationary, blue, eyes, an open mouth with teeth, and a curly blonde wig. He is incised on the back of the head " 5 M (in a flower shape) NIPPON " (the N's are backwards, see photo of mark). He has a composition body that is jointed at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. This adorable little boy is selling his newspapers and wears the traditional pants, shirt, and his newspaper boy hat. He also has on brown stockings and brown, leather like, shoes. Around his shoulder is his sack with the little newspapers. This doll is in good condition but does have two small flakes on his left, lower, eyelid and a larger shallow flake on the right side of his head (under his wig), see photos. His body is excellent and I am assuming it is not old (or else completely re-done). His wig looks newer and so does the pate' inside of it (it will need to be glued down on his head). The clothes may be vintage but not antique. Despite a few flaws, this is an adorable little Newspaper Boy bisque head doll that will stand out in any collection!
