Description
ABOUT:Antique Victorian oval citrine and 2 rose cut diamond ring with a dainty band and pale yellow color. I purchased this from a dealer in Europe who acquired the piece in Prague.
The diamond bezels on the shoulders appear to be topped with silver as was customary to use a harder metal to set the stone and the white metal gives the illusion of a bigger stone. The diamonds are in a closed setting while the citrine is open at the back.
It is hallmarked with the lapwing hallmark used in Czechoslovakia in the early 1900s for 14k gold so it appears to have lived its whole life around Prague until now. Was clearly worn and loved - please read additional important condition notes below.
MEASUREMENTS:
Ring is currently about a size 9, the stone extends a bit out the back of the setting so I couldn't run it snugly down my ring sizer mandrel to make sure. The citrine is about 11mm by 8mm and the diamonds are small, like 1.5mm.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Please note that all my pieces are in estate condition, especially considering age of 100 years. This one was really quite worn and loved over the years. The citrine has quite a lot of scuffs and scratches to the facet edges giving it a more matte finish appearance. Some deeper scratches and nicks and abrasions to the citrine as well. The diamonds are small and yellowish in color and also have wear to the top, as do the silver shoulders of the ring. The citrine sticks out slightly from the back of the bezel and there are scuffs on the culet. Clearly used and loved very old antique piece described to my best ability.
So of course due to age - Please note this piece is not in mint condition.
I would be delighted if you'd follow me in my store. Thanks for stopping by!
