Description
Antique (1870's, according to an informal doll appraisal) bisque matron doll. Perhaps Scandinavian (considering attire). Her face is hand-painted and in good shape. Atop her head she wears a veil (machine stitched on edges) and orange trim. She wears silver flower earrings that match the buttons on her dress. Her dress is hand-stitched with a white blouse with light blue lacing, a black velvet vest with ticking, and a black cotton skirt. Underneath, she wears a white cotton slip with lace trim and a starched white slip beneath. Her shoes are painted black.
Her legs and neck are not jointed, and her body is one piece. Arms are separate and moveable.
Arms are not attached and repair would need to occur. Arms are bisque shoulder, wire elbow attached to both parts of arm, and bisque forearm and hand.
On bottom of shoes is dried glue (perhaps to keep her standing in display), and it appears there is residual glue on the bottom front of her skirt.
