Description

1880 rare French Marotte Doll with original costume that plays music when twirled. She is beautifully painted closed mouth with white space to look like teeth. She has spiral blue paper weight eyes set into a solid dome Belton head with stringing holes. Her pierced ears have tiny crystal earrings. The head has no chips or cracks, I removed the head to inspect it carefully. O cork was inserted into head to attach to music box. Original silk clothing with alternating colors and Dresden paper decoration with metallic trim and bells. I can leave it separate for shipping or can glue it back, the lace collar was removed also and has to be sewn back on. Marotte measures 11" without hat, with it is 13.5" tall. This is one of the best French Marotte I have seen, don't miss out on this one!
