Description
Antique Imperial Russia Era RingOriginal antique ring from pre 1896.
The ring is solid 14K rose gold. Most gold rings made in Russia at that time had a rose gold hue.
Back of the ring is hallmarked 56 and part of maker's mark initials. Due to wear it is a bit hard to make out the maker's mark initials.
56 zolotnik was a gold hallmark for 14K gold during the imperial Russian era.
The ring is set with 8 diamonds, 6 are rose cut, 2 are even older slice cut.
The antique cut diamonds measure approximately 3mm on average.
The center is a 5mm synthetic ruby. Synthetic stones have existed for a long time and were often used in fine jewelry during the imperial era. There is a very pretty star pattern that is visible when you look straight down the stone into the culet. Overall the ring is very beautiful and striking, and the diamonds are very sparkly. The shank is decorated on both sides where it meets the head of the ring.
The front of the ring measures 13mm x 10mm
Size 7.25
This is an authentic antique item, sold "as-is" condition. If desired the center stone can be replaced and the ring sized by a jeweler. To preserve the original antique condition I have not had any work done on it.
