Description
Hello,This Pot was designed by Uematsu Tosui. The history of the Tosui kiln is very long and a little confusing but if you look up Ryan bells blog, he makes it very clear.
Unlike modern very inexpensive Tosui pots, the kiln has a long and very old history. The most famous and expensive pots in their kiln were designed by Uematsu. He was the mastermind behind the designs then had them made by a talented commissioned potters.
The era in which this was made was before 1959.
About the pot; it’s amazing and well built. Totally handmade and the craftsmanship is really as good as it gets.
The kiri Baku (wood box) that was made for this pot was both signed and stamped by the maker.
Thanks,
