Description

Aeonium arboreum ‘Zwartkopf’ - Aeonium Black Rose is a striking succulent with clumps up to 3 feet (90 cm) tall gray-brown stems that often branch near their base. The long, bare stems hold large terminal rosettes (up to 8 inches/20 cm in diameter) of very dark purple, almost black leaves. Large conical clusters of bright yellow star-shaped blooms.

*** Aeonium leaves bruises very easily, so please expect that there may be some bruises on the leaves upon arrival. The bruises are absolutely normal and do no harm to the plant. The plant will quickly produce new leaves to replace the bruised ones.
*** All of the 4 inch
plants will be shipped bare root.
Light: Full Sun is okay.
Soil: Well drained soil is recommended.
Water: Black Roses deeply until the water drains through the bottom of the container about once a week from March through September. Allow the soil to dry until it’s slightly moist at the root level between waterings. During the winter, reduce watering to once a month. Black Roses planted in the ground require less watering than container plants, so feel the soil a few inches down near the roots to check for moisture. If it feels completely dry, water deeply.
Fertilizer: With water-soluble 10-10-10 fertilizer diluted to half-strength once a month from May through September.

***The plant may appear dry or stressed when you receive it. Simply plant it in a pot and leave at bright location without direct sunlight for a few days. Then you can begin watering the plant, gradually introducing more sunlight, and watching it thrive.
***Please be aware that plants in 2 inch size are baby plants, hence they're smaller than those in 4 inch size. The color of succulents vary based on its growing condition. The plant you receive may not be the exact color as the picture. With proper care and abundant sunlight the color will reappear.
