Description
Antique 1863 Civil War Discharge Papers for John B. Roper 18th Regiment of New York State. He enrolled for 2 years of service on May 1861 was discharged May 1863, signed John Wharton Lieutenant. Note up in corner from Washington D.C. A certificate has been issued from this office entitling John Roper rations due him while being a prisoner of war. He was a prisoner of war from June 3, 1862 to Sept 14, 1862, signed by a Major Cary looks like. Overall very good condition for age.
