Letter from the Quartermaster General's office in Washington, DC, dated November 25, 1864, to Lieutenant Edwin Hand of the 11th New York Cavalry, politely stating "I have the honor to inform you that the Paymaster General, USA, has been requested to stop your pay, no returns having been received from you at this office."
This letter is in overall good condition with expected signs of age. Please see photos.
