Radical Republican, later Speaker of the Texas House. He was U. S. Revenue Collector, postmaster, Galveston Railway president and founded the Beach Hotel.
Col. Sinclair was an early baseball enthusiast, founder and first President of a
TEXAS LEAGUE
franchise in Galveston called the “
GIANTS
”, the locals called them the “
SAND CRABS
” they had the first outfield tally board for fans and “
Ladies Day
”!
