    Description

The first three images are of flowering mature plants that are part of my permanent collection. Plants for sale are shown in the fifth image, planted in pure NZ sphagnum in 2.25" plastic pots. Both are nice, flowering sized offsets that should comtinue to bloom later this year.
    Pinguicula moranensis
    f
    . semialba
"ANPA A" is an easy to grow, pure white and violet color flower form of a well-known tropical butterwort that occurs from the middle to high elevation habitats from central Mexico through to western Honduras in northern Central America. Within the great color variety seen in this species, some populations of the
    semialba
form can have large, very showy and multicolored flowers that are very striking. A well-established clump of this variety is a beautiful and different table centerpiece.
    This large-flowered ecotype of
    Pinguicula moranensis
    f
    . semialba
remains uncommon in cultivation. Originally collected by Alexander Lux near Eloxochitlan, Hidalgo, Mexico at approximately 5700'/1750 m elevation. It is a highly desirable carnivorous plant species that, when mature, can flower from mid-spring through to the fall under proper conditions. It is well-suited for bright windowsill and shady patio or terrace cultivation. While preferring cooler to intermediate temperatures, they expand to their largest rosette size during the warm summer and early fall months. While I have not tested it to near-freezing, the original source locality suggests quite a bit of cold tolerance if dry. Plants offered are rooted offsets from plants in my collection. A must have for all serious CP enthusiasts and a very interesting and beautiful orchid companion pant.
