    Description

Up for auction is this Civil War Testimonial from the State of Maine honoring Joseph Annis.
The testimonial was given on July 4, 1868 in Augusta, Maine. It is signed, (I believe in facsimile),
by Joshua L. Chamberlain, the Governor of Maine and one time hero of Gettysburg and
Adjutant General John C. Caldwell. The document depicts Chamberlain on top and General Grant,
(who was not President until the following year), and Admiral Farragut. Also depicted are a soldier
leaving and returning from the war and the battle between the Monitor and Merrimack and I
    believe the Battle of Gettysburg.
The Testimonial is in beautiful condition and measures 20"x16" matted. It would make a wonderful
addition to any collection of Civil War or post Civil War documents or Civil War memorabilia in
general. Thank you for looking and please check out some of my other eBay items. Please feel
free to contact me if you have any questions.
