Sodium dichromate is also know a sodium bichromate. An orange salt, which is soluble in water having a density of 2.5 and a melting point of 675 degrees Fahrenheit. Sodium dichromate is used as an analytical reagent, leather tanning, wood stains, pigments, defoilating agent, catalyst, electroplating, mordanting, corrosion inhibitor, and as a wood preservative.
