Description
ABOUT:Lovely antique 10k solid gold lime to emerald green paste stone ring bezel set in an interesting ornate mount extending to banded shoulders. Would be a great piece to add color to a ring stack and has a really ornate and dainty look to it. In some light the green is a bit darker and in other light it appears more lime green.
This ring is from the early 1900s but it was actually never owned / worn! I purchased about 15 rings from a woman whose family had owned a jewelry store around the turn of the century (c1900). The rings had been stored away in their old case for all these years and some of them even had the original price tag still on them. So while it is a genuine antique piece, it actually has no wear to the stone or bezel or band - a pretty uncommon find. The buyer will be its first real owner.
Fun piece to wear!
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Currently about a size 5. The paste is about 5.5 by 7.5mm. Lightweight, dainty piece weighs only about .85 grams.
HALLMARKS:
Hallmarked OB 10k inside the band with no other shapes or borders. It does not have the cross but I found other examples of this simpler hallmark used by Ostby Barton online so I am assuming that is the maker.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
All my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. But this one was never worn so it is in better than most condition with no real issues to report. The edges of the shank are blunt for an antique ring since it was never worn to rub away at the gold. Like new old piece.
However with all my antique pieces I always leave a disclaimer that it is not a mint condition item. This is as close to it as you can get though I'd say. : )
Thanks so much for looking!
